WeekBox 1.10.0 is here!

This is our first official WeekBox news post, and it feels fitting to start it with the release of version 1.10.0.

This is our first official WeekBox news post, and it feels fitting to start it with the release of version 1.10.0.

We honestly did not expect WeekBox to reach 1.10.0, but here we are. What started as a small launcher project has continued growing through every person who decided to try it and give us support.

Version 1.10.0 focuses mostly on improving how WeekBox looks, feels, and works behind the scenes.

One of the biggest additions is the new featured mod hero inside the Home feed. While browsing for mods, WeekBox can now highlight a mod that has been trending recently and appears to be a high-quality release worth checking out. It is simply another way to help interesting mods stand out.

Discovery cards have also been updated with smaller engine and mod-type icons, hover labels, and a more compact layout to make it more modern and easier to experience.

The Mod Manager received several changes too. It is now completely grid-based, and importing a local mod has been moved to the plus button in the header.

A lot of old and unused code was removed in this release. Including a lot of Trash I dont want to go too deep in this chapter, Cleaning these things up helps make WeekBox easier to maintain and gives us a better base for future updates.

We are still working through a lot of issues, including installation problems, engine compatibility, mod detection, downloads, updates, and platform-specific bugs. Some fixes may take longer than others, but we are actively going through reports and improving the parts of WeekBox that still need work.

You should expect more updates after 1.10.0. We still have many ideas planned, and there are several existing parts of WeekBox that we want to improve further.

Translations are also coming soon. We want WeekBox to be easier to use for people who do not speak English, and we are preparing the project so more languages can be added properly.

If you are interested in helping translate WeekBox into any language, including Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, Japanese, or another language, please contact the project’s lead, Malloy, on Discord.
